8 months old!

I am really behind. Leo is about 8 months and a week old now. While pregnant everyone told me "it goes by sooo fast.." That was an understatement. It literally blows my mind that my little tiny newborn baby is already showing signs of toddlerhood.
At 8 months Leo:
Smiles and giggles constantly, sticks out his tongue and licks things (yuck!), still hates the carseat unless his window is cracked a bit, is obsessed with jumping, can pull himself up on things but doesn't show interest in crawling, is still a great sleeper (thank the heavens), llooovvveeess Nora and is mesmerized by anything she does, loves baths and has mastered the art of splashing mama, usually takes two or three naps a day and is a different kid with sleep, is obsessed with his dad (no one can get him to giggle like he does), as an absolute wiggle worm and is curious about everything, is very vocal and can be extremely loud when he needs attention, claps all the time (his favorite trick), is starting to wave hello (his newest trick in the works), loves other babies/kids (he's a little friendly thing), hasn't shown any stranger danger yet (which makes me a little sad actually... I want to feel wanted! But I know it would probably get old pretty fast...), lasts a little while in his stroller but much prefers to be held or in a baby carrier, has no signs of teeth yet, is an amazing eater (and is pleasantly plump!), loves water and is getting the hang of his sippy cups, is also starting to show more interest in baby mum mums and puffs, is getting to know the girls at the gym daycare real well and seems to love it there, hasn't had any major sickness or health issues (thank goodness!), is showing SO much personality...
We love this kid so much & really love being parents!

the last of Seattle...

I MISS THE FOOD. Josh and I are also on a pseudo paleo diet, so that doesn't help my longing to be back there binging out on amazing meals left and right. More awesome things we did: Wing Luke museum (so awesome learning more about the Asian culture and history in the city), a little spa day at the Salish Lodge, eating, eating eating, laughing, Chihuly Garden & Glass, Big Wheel at the pier, oysters at the Walrus and the Carpenter, most delicious everything at the Pink Door, etc.
Here are some random pictures...

ode to the best root beer i have ever had...

Another Seattle must: Serious Pie. I am salivating thinking about it right now. Amazing pizza, but even more amazing homemade root beer. Josh makes fun of me because I LOVE root beer. He always says its a kid drink. Anyway, I was in heaven.

Seattle Bites (Pike Place Market food tour)

We all agree, the food tour at Pike Place Market was our favorite activity in Seattle. It was a little history and a lot of eating while walking around the market. It was so neat to learn some history about the market, which I knew nothing about, in an entertaining and tasty way! I am dying to go back with Josh, even if just to do this again with him!

thanks to nora, we froze our bums off.

Thanks to Nora, we took a walk on one of the coldest days we've had this winter. It. Was. So. Cold.
I actually love the motivation to get outside a dog (especially a super active breed) brings with it. We love watching her frolic in the snow and stretch her long legs, even if she chewed my only pair of mittens.

here's to an unhealthy new year!

Last year Josh and my New Years resolution was giving up white flour. We decided to celebrate by ordering in pizza from Dominos at 11:45 PM to make sure we could take a bite right at midnight. We also got Oreos and Tim Tams...and Josh decided to find whatever other junk food we had to fill every stacking bowl. He cracks me up.
We had a small group of friends over and played Things in our pajamas after Leo went down. It was the perfect way to ring in the new year.
In the morning I woke up wanting the one thing I strangely craved the most during the past year: donuts. Of course all the places I wanted them from were closed, so I ended up at Maverick getting Dunfords and Krispy Kremes. They never tasted better.

2012 was an amazing year. Most importantly, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy. We have been so blessed and I can't help but get a little emotional looking back on how things have gone in our life. I'm excited to see what 2013 has to offer!
