reminiscing about south africa.

It was truly the most incredible honeymoon/experience anyone could ask for.
I suddenly got anxiety about documenting and recording memories. I have yet to make a book about this trip, and a whole lot of other fun times. The task seems so daunting, but I know how important and worth it  it is. I should have made getting caught up on that a resolution. Maybe starting now?
Anyway, I was foraging through iPhoto and came upon the album from this trip. So many memories and feelings of excitement and adventure came rushing back. I am SO glad this is where we decided to go together. There is no one I would have rather experienced these amazing things with. I never want to forget it.

life is oh so good.

I have the greatest husband. We have the best doggie. I am graduating in a few months. We are headed to Mexico in about a month. My uncle gets in this weekend to take action in our kitchen/house. I turn 23 in about a week. I have a baby growing in my belly. We have the best family and friends. We feel so blessed!

one of those days…and some dog park photos from long ago.

I have a lot of "those days" in the winter where all I do is long for summer. Today is one of them. Finding these pictures from last summer didn't help.
We love going to the dog park with friends, especially when it's warm and sunny out!
Nora loves Lucy (Brooke & Jake's dog) and Baxter (Becca & Chase's dog). I think little Baxter was overwhelmed on this outing, but it was too adorable watching her trail after the big dogs.

about 17 weeks down.

Time really kinda feels as if it is crawling by right now. Most people start to feel great at this point…but I still haven't gotten there. I am still pretty sick most nights.
On a more positive note, our baby seems to be doing well! The doctor said we should feel some movement in the next little bit. So excited for that!!
It is still crazy to Josh and I that we are going to have a little boy this summer. While walking with Nora in the dog park the other day we reflected on our life and how things are going to change…we are so excited about everything! It is so cool that this little guy will be ours and we get to be parents!

Here are a few random photos of the past couple weeks…
The kitchen/living room renovation is officially underway!
Latest baby bump.

Two biggest cravings…ice and pickles.
Excited about my new Frees. They are inspiring my growing body to try and stay in shape...

pregnancy: the good and the not-so-good

Side note: My dad mentioned the other day, "What is it that makes pregnant women suddenly write REALLY long blog posts?" I responded, "Hmm I don't know. But that's cool that you look at my blog!"

The not-so-good:
-Last night after Chinese food, the little Chinese lady looked at my belly and said, "Wow, that's a big baby!"
Thanks little Chinese lady, I realize I am growing abnormally fast. Plus I just ate a million pieces of fortune chicken and coconut shrimp.
-Having to pee immediately when I get on the treadmill. Then again when I get on the stair stepper. And then again with any aerobic movement.
Really isn't helping me work out. At least I'm trying, right?
-Being at the U…with a belly.
Hi class, please see my ring. No, I am not a knocked up sorority girl.

The good:
-Said Chinese lady guessed my baby was a boy. She said she just "knew."
Maybe there is more to fortune cookies after all?
-Looking forward to a Mexican cruise in a couple months.
Can't wait to flaunt my then HUGE belly (at the rate I'm going) in some super attractive maternity swim suit. Oh, and pasty skin. Hooray!
-The demolition starts tomorrow in my kitchen, which means progress is coming!
-The fact that my baby could look like THIS little guy!
Man, I am SO okay with having my very own little Josh. We already know he'll be blue eyed. Just need some blonde curls!

a little past due, but we met santa. again.

We have had a High school friend Christmas party since, well High school. Each year Santa makes a special arrival. You would think now that most of us are post-college, working, married women, we would be over it, but nope.

our little boy: first pictures

I couldn't wait any longer for an ultrasound, so Josh and I went last night to finally see our little one. My heart just about stopped when I saw him on the screen. I couldn't stop smiling and I never wanted it to end!
He was definitely not shy about letting us know he is a boy as his legs were spread eagle for most of the time. Josh was convinced he was a girl before this, so maybe it was his way of telling his dad to stop calling him a she!
It was so cute to see him just hanging out and moving all around. He was such an active little guy!
He had his arms behind his head then pulled one out and gave us a thumbs up! He also waved a few times…or so we like to say.
I about died when I saw his little feet!

I am so so happy we did this. I feel so much more connected my little baby boy! At one point the ultra-sound tech poked my tummy and we could see her finger touching him. It made me realize how fragile he is, even if he is well protected. Made me think again about whether skiing is okay or not. I am so grateful to have been able to see my little guy and know that he is healthy and developing well. I just want it to stay that way!

sun valley getaway…

Our dear friends Brooke and Jake invited us to stay at their families condo in Sun Valley for a few days. I was nervous I wouldn't make it because of feeling sick, but I am SO glad it worked out. It was a way fun group of friends and we had a great time. Thanks Brooke and Jake!
