I am almost packed, which means my house almost won't be a wreck.
I almost get to do cool things with Josh.
We are almost done Skyping.
I will almost be on the beach.
And will almost see lots of animals.

Without a husband...

I eat expensive food. (okay not that expensive, but buying for one makes a big difference!)
I don't make the bed every day. (I forgot yesterday...and the day before that)
I read before bed instead of making Josh talk to me until I fall asleep.
I spent a lot more time thinking about clothes.
I don't work out very much.
I sleep over at my parents. (well once, but still)
I watch movies alone.
I spend a lot more time on my homework.
I talk on the phone A LOT. (to anyone who will keep me company)
I get emotional when I think about him being gone. (total baby)
I stretch out in bed, without worrying about crowding him too much. (time for a King)
I throw my sweaters on the couch, instead of hanging them.
I don't wear make up, or wear the clothes I like a lot. (so they will be clean for my trip)
I don't cook.
I don't drink water. (Josh reminds me constantly to drink it, I am lost without him)
I wake up to every sound, because I don't feel protected.
I am not as giddy.
I feel like my other half is missing.

Easter dinner

It was really nice take a couple hour break from studying and have Easter dinner with my dad at Silver Fork Lodge. The dinner was good but I think their breakfast is better, especially when it's warm enough to sit out on the patio! Anyway, it was fun to spend time with him and hear about all of his adventures.
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Finals frustration.

Finish one thing, and there is another sitting there waiting to be done.
Doing finals early is definitely bitter sweet.
Thank goodness I have quite a lot of motivation to get things done right now and will soon be celebrating in S.A. with Josh!

I've got mail!

Yesterday I found a letter on the floor of my kitchen, today I found two in my mailbox! They are letters counting down the days until I will be in Africa with Josh. I know Josh is thoughtful and all, but he has amazed me once again. He might kill me for posting this on here, but oh well, I am too excited not to!
Can't wait to open tomorrow's!

Two things I like.

Josh is gone.

And I am not liking it.
I took him to the airport in the middle of the night. Waking up without him next to me was super weird. In the five months of being married, we've never been away from each other. Not even for a night.
It is strange how much a part of me he is now. He is basically my world.
Luckily I am taking my finals this next week before I leave to meet up with him, so I will be quite busy.
Thursday, PLEASE come fast. I want to be in South Africa with my husband!

Nuch's pizzeria

There is a newer little pizzeria near Josh and my new house that I kept driving past and wondering about. Josh knew I have been wanting to try it, so he worked it into our schedule last night.
We were SO impressed by their stuffed zucchini appetizer. The other appetizers sounded really good as well. The pizza was good, not as good as Setebello, but it was a more NY style pizza anyway. Over all, we will definitely go back...especially with the location.

My husband may get eaten.

Josh surprised me with "Emmy's day" yesterday. He had the whole day planned out from start to finish! It was so so sweet.
We went skiing in the morning and on the way up to the resort Josh mentioned how badly he wants to see a moose. He has lived in Utah for about seven years now and has never seen one.
We got up the first lift and started skiing down. As we got closer to the bottom Josh stopped, turned around and started talking to me. Suddenly two moose started walking across the mountain right behind him! As I told him to turn around, two people on the lift above us said "Don't go near those..." But of course Josh screams down after them possibly more excited than I have ever seen him!
While watching him do this, a little shocked, a little humored, I pictured him bolting after the animals on the safari in Africa.
Let's hope his senses are a little more keen, so he doesn't get us in some serious trouble!

Lomography in Quincy

Quincy, CA is where my mom and her family grew up. This place is very dear to our hearts and some of our best memories were made there. I took Josh there when we first started dating and he fell in love with it as well. It's basically outdoorsmen paradise, so there really wasn't any way he wouldn't have loved it. Anyway, I just found a roll of film and was excited to find these in the prints!
Can't wait to go back this summer over Josh's birthday!

Approaching the end of one chapter

As college graduation nears, the "big" question of what I want to do feels a lot more real.
This question I have always avoided but I suddenly feel like it is staring me right in the face with a big smirk.
There are so many different things to consider and unfortunately I am the kind of person who changes my mind everyday.
I remember wishing I just knew who I was going to marry, now I feel the same about a job.
I guess I need to embrace the mystery.. the marriage one turned out pretty well.

Happy husband=Happy life

My husband loves his job, I mean really loves it. You know what else is cool? He is DANG good at it.
I love listening to him talk to people about money and different types of investments. He gets so excited and he is so passionate about it. His clients absolutely adore him.
I am so grateful to have such a smart, responsible husband who really balances out my weaknesses.
I hope when I figure out what I want to do, I have the same kind of passion and excitement that he does!

Molca date with my two men

A couple weeks ago I introduced Josh to Molca Salsa. (okay he thinks he had been there once before, but I am taking credit.) Anyway, he is now obsessed and has been many times since!
We went with my dad this past weekend. I love hanging out with these two boys. We get a lot more time with my dad lately since my mom is out of the country!

Moop, the actress

My sister's school performs a Shakespeare play ever year. It is amazing to see how hard these kids work and literally do not miss a line or stumble at all!
This year was Hamlet and Mattie was Ophelia. She played the part extremely well, especially when she goes crazy!
Now my little actress sister is off to study in Spain for a couple weeks. Sheesh, do you think this one is going to be cultured or what?!
Anyway, bravo Mattie, we were so impressed and we miss you already!!

The house

I ran over to take a picture of the house. Our very first picture.
More of the inside and backyard to come. THEN before and afters..
