my baby at 9 weeks old..

Weighs about ten pounds.
Smiles like crazy.
Tells me the most interesting stories with the most expressive faces.
Has had a few amazing nights of sleep, but so far they were just teasers.
Has deep, dark blue eyes and blonde blonde hair.
Is generally a mama's boy, but falls right asleep when Josh holds him.
Is extremely alert and loves to look around and take in the world.
Prefers to be held all day, every day.
Hates his carseat, unless we roll down his window.
Calms down quickly to the sound of running water.
Loves going on hikes in his baby carrier.
Doesn't mind getting lots of licks from Nora.
LOVES baths or showering with us.
Hardly cries at all (unless he's in his carseat).
Loves when we bounce him sitting on the exercise ball.
Does little giggles, but no hardly laughs yet.

My heart melts every time I look at our little man. Especially when he looks right into my eyes and gives me that gummy grin. I love seeing his personality shine through little by little.
I was given a blessing a while back that expressed how I would feel a joy beyond anything I had ever felt when I had children of my own. I think about that all the time with my little one and it is so so true. The feeling is indescribable.

nothing sweeter

Nothing sweeter than a smiling baby. Especially when he looks you right in the eyes while doing it.
This stage is amazing.

baby bumps

I wish I did a better job at documenting my bump. Getting pictures taken while pregnant is less than appealing. I settled for iPhone snap shots…better than nothing!
Maybe next time around I'll be better at using my sister's adorable project baby shirt!

snapshots from lake powell

We had (almost) my entire family there for the first time in years! It was so great to spend time with them and reconnect.
Lake Powell with a newborn is quite an experience. It was strange to spend most of my time on the houseboat, but it was still great.

a name and a blessing..

Josh gave Leo a beautiful blessing a couple weeks ago in my parent's backyard. We were lucky to have a lot of family in town, which made it even more special. Leo has so many people who love him already!
I wish we got better pictures, but it was a little overwhelming!

(My mom made his adorable little outfit and my sister got his blanket in Bethlehem!)

Josh is 30!

I threw a surprise party for him, which of course wasn't much of a surprise. He is too handy with technology (find your friends app) for me to hide anything! Anyway, he ended up having a great night and that's all that mattered.
This was my first time trying to plan a surprise party and man, it was stressful. I am so open with Josh and I hated having to do everything behind his back! Not to mention Josh's mom was in town staying with us, Leo's baby blessing was the next day, and we were leaving for Lake Powell the day after that. Talk about a crazy weekend.

I can't believe Josh is THIRTY!
I love being married to him. He has been the cutest husband and dad. I feel so blessed every day.

homemade pizzas with the cooks

How cute is this couple?
We're so blessed to have some of the best friends. It has been so much fun to share our experience with having this new baby with them and still doing stuff together (phew, we were worried about that!).
Anyway, Brooke and Jake came over to our house a couple weeks ago (yeah, I'm behind) to make pizzas! Brooke found pre-made whole wheat dough at Harmon's, which was so tasty! I used the idea last week in Lake Powell and brought the ingredients for my whole family to make them.
Jake's "man" pizza.
I am DYING for my friends to have babies! Hurry up guys!!!
