Quincy!!

I should be studying right now for my first final tonight. Instead, I need to tell you how excited I am  about our trip this weekend. We leave tomorrow morning for the place where I fell head over heals for my husband about three years ago. This place is Quincy, California. My mom grew up there and my Mammo, Poppa, and some family still live there (or near by). Those of you who know me, know how much we adore this place. It is such a charming little town (think one theater with one movie at a time...literally) with trees everywhere. My Mammo and Poppa are hosting a family reunion this weekend and we couldn't be more excited to see everyone and spend time in this beautiful place. Josh has been looking forward to it all summer... I am so glad he shares the same love for it!

*Yes...I am all over the place with my hair...I know!

Someday I'll take pictures with a camera again.

A little photo update:

I drove by our old apartment the other day and almost got a little teary-eyed. This place is so dear to my heart, even though we were only there about 6 months. We made so many memories as a newly married couple and learned so much in that place. I'll never forget the creaky floors and drippy faucet. We loved it all.
We have been on a serious swimsuit hunt lately. Josh decided that he is sick of hearing me complain about modest swimsuits, so we are on a mission to find the perfect one! Just ordered a bunch more to try...
I dyed my hair blonde and got a new iPhone case. Josh was sick of me not using a case. He told me "it's like insurance." So we went to the Apple store and I picked this pretty one out.
We spent all day on Friday at the outlets in Park City with my brother & sis-in-law. We were drained after just a couple hours, but we did come out victorious.
These shoes are my favorite purchase. I love them lots, even though they're already dirty.

Josh's loves

Oh yeah, my hair is blonde now.

Farmer's Market

I love the SLC Farmer's Market, but it was a little tough with Nora. She was so overstimulated by all the smells, people, and other dogs that I could barely hold her back. The biggest problem was that Josh wasn't there until later... he would have had no problem controlling her better. It was her first time in that extreme of an environment, so she just isn't used to it yet.

Anyway, I got some cherries, Gouda, and figs! Everything looked so great and fresh, maybe it was good that I had Nora to distract me from spending too much money?

My husband's hair...and Nora

First of all, it really sucks to constantly be jealous of your husband's hair, for those of you who don't know how that is. It is thick, thick and golden blonde. Did I mention how thick it is? Anyway, there are certain rooms Nora isn't allow in in our house. If I am in one of them, Josh feels bad so he sits in the doorway with her. He's so whooped.

Our DIY bedroom

Our bedroom is in the basement of our new house. It has it's pros and cons. One con is that we couldn't fit our bed or box springs down the stairs! We had to search for a split queen box springs. Instead of buying a new bed, I decided to make a headboard instead! It was actually a really fun project...and now that I know how it's done, I'll definitely do it again. The night stands are from Ikea which I put together all by myself (Josh laughs because one leg already had to be redone...) The elephant is from Thrift Town, which I spray painted white. I also made the European shams. The lamps are from Home Goods and the framed antique advertisements are from Italy.

This is practically the only pseudo-done room in our house. Although these pictures look yellow, there really is good lighting and a clean feel in our bedroom. We love it. Hopefully I will have more of our house to show soon! (and I'll post about making the headboard later)

Nora and Vivian

Nora LOVES kids. So much that she jumps up on them to give kisses, which scares them. We are trying to teach her not to jump up. In the mean time, it didn't seem to phase Viv all that much. They were little buddies while we were at their house for a Fourth BBQ!

Boating+Camping

A good friend of mine, Brooke and her husband planned a little camping and boating trip up at Jordanelle. We headed up there, dropped the boat off in the water and went out on some runs! It was such a nice night...after we finished boating, we got all of our stuff together and walk/hiked up to our camp spot. Brooke had gone up searching for one earlier and I have no idea how she managed to find this! It was great. We made tin foil dinners and talked around the fire. The next morning we got up, ate a basically gourmet breakfast Brooke brought up, took everything down and headed straight for the lake. We played until we were all worn out... and freezing since the wind came in. It was so much fun and now I think that this is my way of camping... by a lake with a boat!

A summer night

We had some friends over to cook dinner at my parents house. Josh and I were so warn out from boating, but it was still fun to sit outside and enjoy the company and good food. We really feel blessed to have such good people in our lives.

Art class

I took Violet to the art class my nieces and nephew go to. They were read a book that inspired them to paint a fish using wet paper, a roller, glitter, and watercolors. The kids had so much fun!
